REACH is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against Tuberculosis (TB), with office in Chennai. Established in 1998-99, REACH is implementing multiple projects across India, with support from the Stop TB Partnership, HCL Foundation, HUL, AM Foundation and Azim Premji Foundation, among others. REACH worked over 25 states of the country.

As part of the NCD-TB Care Model Project supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, REACH is looking to recruit a District Programme Coordinator, who will be responsible for day-to-day management, training of field staff and implementation of the intervention on TB, Diabetes & Hypertension at Thuraiyur block of Tiruchirappalli district. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Sociology (MA Sociology) and a strong interest in programme management, community engagement, and public health initiatives. For the selected candidate, this will be an opportunity to apply their academic training to real-world public health challenges, strengthen community-based interventions, and build significant experience in programme coordination and field-level implementation. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manage day-to-day operations across the block(s) under the district
  • Facilitate recruitment of field staff
  • Plan and organize training sessions and workshops, as needed
  • Provide daily coordination, supervision, and monitoring support to Field Supervisors and Community Health Workers for project-related activities
  • Plan logistics for screenings, community camps, and referrals
  • Monitor program indicators and report to Project Lead
  • Coordinate with district and block level TB and NCD officers for synergy with government programs
  • Conduct regular review meetings with project team
  • Verify and approve district/field-level invoices and bills as required
  • Prepare monthly reports, dashboards, meeting minutes, and other necessary documentation
  • Support evaluation, research, and documentation efforts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in the field
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:

  • Graduate/Post graduate in social work, Rural Development, Public Health or related field
  • Experience of minimum 5 years, preferably 8+ years in project implementation
  • Knowledge of TB and Non-Communicable diseases and the functioning in both the programmes preferred
  • Exemplary analytical, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior experience of working in the district for which applications are invited
  • Experience in field data verification and validation of field invoices preferred
  • Understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems, and public health data.
  • Knowledge of using MS Word, Excel etc for programmatic and financial reporting essential
  • Ability to work closely with health officials
  • High ethical standards and transparent working style
  • Fluency in English and Tamil 
  • Willingness to carry out a wide range of activities, including both professional and logistical tasks
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the district
