Role: Program Lead-1 (Telangana)

Experience: 6-8 years

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Role Overview: 

Rocket Learning, in partnership with the Department of Women, Children, Disabled, & Senior Citizens (WCDS) in Telangana is launching its teacher and parent programs across the state for the 2025-26 academic year and onward. In the first year, the Program Lead-1 (PL-1) will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and performance of the teacher and parent programs in the state. As part of your responsibilities, you’ll get:

1. Exposure to government systems of early childhood education, particularly the WCDS department and ICDS scheme and ability to liaise with them on a regular basis
2. Leading a team of professionals who will impact millions of young learners in the state of Telangana
3. Opportunity to hone and improve your data analytics skills by translating data from the field into actionable insight
4. Opportunity to innovate using cutting edge technology and social media to build communities of Anganwadis and low-income parents
5. Opportunity to manage a team of field resources and also coordinate closely with multiple functions within Rocket Learning

Key Results:

1. Launch of Rocket Learning’s teacher program in Anganwadi Centres in Telangana.
2. Launch of Rocket Learning’s parent program for 3-6-year-olds in Telangana.
3. Building a program team of program managers and district coordinators.
4. Achievement of all key metrics relating to teacher and parent coverage, activation, etc.
5. Implementation outlined in the Rocket Learning’s MOU and joint-proposal with Telangana WCDS.
6. Management of Rocket Learning's external partnerships with government and non-government partners in Telangana.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Liaising with the state government, Department of Education, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders
2. Managing and recruiting the program team for conducting training of Anganwadis and government officials
3. Coordinating data collection for program launch and using data analytics to create SOPs and run state operations
4. Work with teams cutting across functions  (content, media, tech, etc.) to implement the teacher and parent programs in the state and launch new initiatives

Critical Factors for Success

1. Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Telugu
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Strong relationship building, leadership, and team management skills
4. Ability to work with and coordinate with government officials
5. Experience of working in education or other areas of social impact
6. Experience of working in Telangana or other state government department
7. Ability to interpret data and conduct basic data analysis in excel and comfort with technology
8. Comfort with working on multiple different initiatives at once
9. Ability to take learnings from your specific context to general learnings that can be used in  different regions and contexts in the organizations
