REACH is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against Tuberculosis (TB), with office in Chennai. Established in 1998-99, REACH is implementing multiple projects across India, with support from the Stop TB Partnership, HCL Foundation, HUL, AM Foundation and Azim Premji Foundation, among others. REACH worked over 25 states of the country.
As part of the NCD-TB Care Model Project supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, REACH is looking to recruit a Project Lead, who will be overall responsible for implementation of the project on TB, Diabetes & Hypertension at Thuraiyur block of Tiruchirappalli district. The ideal candidate is a medical doctor with a MD Community Medicine or MPH, who is looking for an opportunity to gain experience in implementation, programme management, and community engagement. For the selected candidate, this will be an opportunity to translate clinical expertise into community-level action, and significantly advance public health knowledge and skills.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Be responsible for the overall implementation and roll-out of the project
- Provide programmatic and operational support and oversee the teams at the district levels
- Provide technical inputs into development of a range of documents, reports, materials etc. on NCD and TB
- Train all staff on clinical aspects of TB through regular refresher trainings
- Analyse programme and project data and identify strategies to improve outcomes
- Provide guidance and oversight to the team at the district level
- Undertaking monitoring and supportive supervision visits to the project area to give feedback and strengthen operations
- Track recent scientific updates which are relevant to the organisation
- Conceptualise and execute operational research projects as required
- Working with the team to generate policy recommendations for advocacy
- Coordinate with other teams within REACH to ensure cross-learning
- Coordinate with District TB and NCD officers for synergy with government programs
- Any other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
- MBBS degree holder with postgraduate degree in MD Community Medicine or Public Health
- Preferably 2-5 years of experience working in public health and implementing public health projects
- Good understanding of the public health system in India and ability to work closely with health officials
- Experience in working on TB/NCD will be an asset. Should ideally have a clear understanding of clinical aspects of TB/NCD as well as current policies and programmes
- Experience in training frontline workers, affected communities etc.
- Ability to draft high-quality technical and programmatic documents
- Ability to track and analyse technical data for decision-making
- Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems, and public health data
- Exemplary analytical, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
- Excellent skills in MS Office, Excel and other relevant software
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, know when to act independently and when to consult for advice on decision-making.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations.
- High ethical standards and transparent working style
- Ability to read and write fluently in English and Tamil are essential; knowledge of Hindi is an asset
- Willingness to travel across Tamilnadu/India if required.
